Hi Friends,
I'll start with the good
news: My newest CD, No Solid
Ground, has been selected as the Best Folk CD of the Year
2000 in the Ithaca Journal's annual music awards. These
awards, known as "Jimmies", are given out by Jim Catalano, music
writer for The Journal. Jim has this to say about No Solid
Ground: "On her third CD, Kessler
continues to refine her blend of uplifting lyrics and propulsive guitar
riffs."
Okay, now picture me coming up to the podium to recieve my
Jimmie award, in a long dress, with tears of joy streaming down my face. Amidst
the roar of applause and wildly flashing cameras, I give my speech: " I'd
like to thank Rich DePaolo, my producer, who also engineered most of the project
and provided much of the musical accompaniment. I'd also like to thank all the
other fine musicians whose talents are featured on this record: Peter Dodge,
Bill King, Charlie Shew, Brian Earle, Chris White, Annie Burns, Marie Burns,
Jenna Rubin & Jasmine Tourance. Thanks also to the folks behind the scenes:
Will Russell of Electric Wilburland Studios, Matthew Saccucci Morano, Robin
Mack, Pat Burke, Kathy Morris, and the Divine Spirit that makes this all
possible."
And now, a commercial:
No Solid Ground can be ordered from In The Moment
Productions, PO Box 4054 Ithaca, NY 14852. Send $15 check or M.O. per CD, plus
$1.50 shipping & handling. For each additional CD, please add 50 cents to
the shipping fee.
My other recordings, Another Day of Loving(which won
a Jimmie in 1996) and Leap of Faith, can also be ordered at the same
address for the same price.
And now for the not-so-good news: Songs.com,
the internet distributor that has hosted my website for the past couple of
years, is going out of business. Due to unfortunate circumstances beyond their
control, they have shut down their operations, and I will need to create a new
website. I'd like to publicly thank "Perfesser" Paul Schatzkin,
Michael Camp, and all the other folks at Songs.com for their hard work in
supporting and promoting independent recording artists, and I wish them much
success in their future endeavors.
So, friends, I am cyber-homeless at the moment, but I hope to
be up and running with a new site by the end of January. I will let you know
when that is set up. In the meantime, for those of you who prefer to use credit
cards, you can still order my CDs online via the following sites:
