Greg Brown in Concert
Greg Brown, the critically acclaimed two-time Grammy nominated contemporary folk artist will perform at Kulp Auditorium at Ithaca High School on January 17, 2003. Brown, a touring musician for over 30 years and the founder of the independent label Red House Records, has long been a favorite of music critics nationally and in Europe. Greg Brown is a true cross-over artist who appeals to fans of folk, rock, gospel, and blues. The Washington Post called Brown, "One of the best singer-songwriters in America," and Rolling Stone described him as, "A wickedly sharp observer of the human condition." He has recorded 21 albums in his long and productive career. A new tribute album, Going Driftless features many of todays finest female performers including Lucinda Williams, Ani DiFranco, Iris Dement (whom he just married), and Mary Chapin Carpenter. The show will be at 8:00 pm. Ithaca High School is located at 1401 North Cayuga Street. Tickets are $20.00 in advance and, if available, $23.00 on the day of the show.
